Actually we are upgrading/migrating from ALM 11.0 to ALM 11.5 where 11.5 will be on a new server.
(most likely case no.2)
Expectations :
After installing the ALM 11.5 using the schema of 11.0, we will migrate the projects from the old repository (ALM 11.0) to a new server.
Ofcourse the only way to import projects to ALM is using the Site Admin which is ofcourse a client machine (windows).
We did this using samba server where we shared the new directory of the repository in the new server. We copied the repository from 11.0 to the new repository server.
var\opt\HP\HPALM\Repository <------- (new repo) is shared to the client machine.
Yes, we are able to direct to the dbid.xml of the projects from the siteadmin. migrate and upgrade of the projects were successful.
I just want to try out your idea, that no matter where the dbid.xml are as long as the repository path set in it is directing to the repository server, there will be no problem.
In my case, can i copy all the dbid.xml or the whole repository folder from linux going to a windows machine using Winscp? And use this for importing projects?
