There is a major program where more than 100 applications will be tested. The program will be divided into two phases and each phase will have 3 test cycles. Within each of these phases aprx. 100 applications will be tested. So when a testers is logging a defect there is a possibility that he/she will have to pick up value from a list of 50+ values for application area field. This will be a nightmare for a tester.
From an overall program reporting perspective it makes sense to create one project in ALM and do reporting from it. But from a tester perspective it will be very difficult because he/she will have to deal with the above explained situation.
So Possible solutions we are looking for:- 1. Either a filter based dropdown as if user selects one partilar application, then the linked dropdown is populated only with the areas of that particular application.Eg user sleects country as India then cities dropdown shoes cities of India only and not other countries. 2. Having difefrent projects for different applications ans usimng some cross project reports.
Please suggest various posiibilities.
