1) Is it at all possible to lock down the standard HP QC user groups from being used?
- There is no possible option in HP QC/ALM to restrict the users from adding and removing users from the system defined user groups. (Tools -> Customize).
2) If not, is there a way to setup a notification, either point and click or a workflow script solution such that if anyone is assigned to one of the standard user groups in a QC project (TDAdmin, Project Manager, QATester, Developer) that an email notification will go out to the project administrators?
- Again the notification can not be sent as there is no action name to detect this action.
For this reason we blocked the users from using the Admin Option from the project (Tools->Customize) and created a separate tool using the OTA API to grant them restricted admin access.
