Re: Limit Requirement Type list available to user?

I have an answer to one of your questions.

You can set a filter up for a user group for Requirements types through Tools > Customize > Groups and Permissions > (select group) > Data Hiding > Requirement.  This will limit the Requirements they can see in the Requirements module. However, there are limits to this method.

  1. You can't modify the permissions of a system defined group.  If you users are members of a system defined default group you'll have to create a new user group and move them all to it, and modify the permissions of that group.
  2. If the type of Requirement you want them to see is the child of a type of requirement they are not allowed to see, then they won't be able to see that child requirement in the Requirements Tree View. They can see it if they use the Grid View.  For instance, if the Business requirement is in a Folder, and you set the filter so that they can only see Business requirements, then in tree view they would not be able to see the Business requirement because the parent Folder requirement is hidden from them.
