It will just remove the connection.
As specified earlier the DB Server tab only contains the information on an instance of the DB. While creating an instance we do not specify any schema detail so there is no question of deleting any schema. We only provide the connection string and removing the connection string does not uninstall the database.
Before making the change please consult your DBA to be confident on this.
