How can select values from Defect Approval Status Drop Down List for Genilogix enabled projects?

Hi All,

 

We have Genilogix template on top of all the quality center projects in production.

 

We are on QC 10 Patch 24.

 

The Genilogix template is deployed on top of QC for implementing certain restrictions,controlling approval workflow,validations etc.

 

Issue:

 

The 'Approval Status' value of the defects are ONLY changed by clicking on the genilogix pencil sign.

 

Any User must not be able to change  the 'Approval Status' value by selecting its values from its field drop down list as in QC vanilla projects( without genilogix template ).

 

But to the surprise one user reported that he is able to change the 'Approval Status' value by selecting value such as 'assigned','closed'  from the drop down list of Approval Status field.

 

For all the users and ADMINS including me this option for selecting the drop down is faded out.

 

How can this user able to view this drop down list and select a value from the list?

 

I have tried to reproduce the issue in analysing in below ways but every time , the drop down values are grayed out for me and this behavior is expected, genilogix template is restricting those values to be transperent by abstracting those drop down list values by fading the 'Approval Status' field .

 

  • With the same roles ( Tester , Test Analyst, Defect Resolver ) the same issue is not reproduced in the DEV environment.

  

  • Removed both the Genilogix Add-In / GLX Plug-In on my client machine and I tried but still the issue did not get reproduced.

 

  • Even if the defect is assigned to me using these roles ( Tester , Test Analyst, Defect Resolver ) the issue did not get reproduced.

 

  • With the ( Tester , Test Analyst, Defect Resolver, Test Manager, Technical Reviewer, Business Reviewer, Lead Test Manager, Requirement Author,TD Admin, eApprove Administrator ) this issue did not get reproduced.

What are the other ways I can think for reproducing this issue.

 

Please advise.
