What version of the product are you using?
1. With v11.0 hyperlinks are not supported in the Description and Comment fields. You need to go to the defect's Attachments tab and add a URL type of attachment.
2. What do you mean by the link doesn't work for most users? Exactly how does it not work? Those links that you get from "Copy URL" do require that the user logon to the project through the UI, and have permission to access the entity. So, if the user doesn't have permission to logon to the project through the UI, or doesn't have permission to see the defect, then of course the link would not work.
3. In v11.0 when you view the Details of a Defect, there is a toolbar button labeled "Standard Defect Report". Clicking that button will give you a printout of the one defect you are viewing. In the Defect module you can also get reports by accessing the options under the Analysis menu, located above the button toolbar. If you want a customized report layout, look at the capabilities of the Dashboard module.
