Hi,
Recently in my company we had this incident where one user with admin rights deleted permanently a test case from test plan and consequently all test instances in test lab were deleted as well , so not only we lost its design steps but also all execution results.
We had a backup of the database restored in our QA server, so we were able to recover the missing information, however going through this issue makes us start re-considering our security measures.
Currently we have configured groups permissions and additional we have created a Recycle bin folder where we let users to dump test cases they don't longer think they need.
It had worked well until it has been proven Admin users are also humans and make mistakes. So today we would like to start working in a solution to move tests to the Unattached folder or our own Recycle bin automatically when even an Admin user attempts to delete a test case from any folder different to Recycle bin.
It occurs to me that perhaps someone else has gone through same situation and maybe had already developed some OTA code since I consider this sort of situation somehow common.
Please any assistance will be high appreciated.
