For me, it is better to install QC11 and migrate/upgrade db and projects.
It is as if you are working in parallel with QC10 and 11, do some projects first so other can still work on 10 till all projects be migrated to 11. Also, if project upgrade fails, as mentioned above you can easily fix the project and continue with the migration/upgrade.
