Firstly, many thanks for this post, it has been most helpful.
However, I am slightly confused by the fact that you can skip step 6 (editing of existing dbid.xml) if upgrading from existing qcsiteadmin_db as it already contains the project information.
Surely when restoring the projects in SA it will pick up the un-edited dbid.xml file and fail?
