I have done research in the Administrator Guide and the OTA API reference, and I can't find a way to accomplish what you want other than through Data Hiding. And you have already said that solution won't work because the user belongs to multiple groups and the data has to be visible to the other groups.
Specifically, I am not able to find a method to filter the list of requirements displayed that meets the following requirements
- exclude a specific requirement based on its ID number
- exclude if for users that are a member of a specific group while also being members of other groups
- do not exclude it for users that are members of the other groups, but not a member of the specified group.
The only thing I have found is that you can hide all the fields for a specified requirement when it is opened by a user that is a member of a specified group and other groups, while keeping the fields visible to users who are members of only the other groups. Unfortunately, this hides the fields only when the requirement details are opened. The user could still see the field values displayed in the grid if those fields are added as columns in the grid.
